久々に絵画を見に行った。
(日記上ではつい、この前も行ったかのように思えてしまうのだが。)
見に行ったのはラファエル前派展。これを知る前はてっきりラファエル前期・後期みたいな区別があるのかと勘違いしたのだが、当時の規範となっていたラファエロ「より前」の初期ルネサンス美術を範とした流派のことらしい。
沈みゆく女性の「オフィーリア」はなかなか有名ではないかと思う。
私はこの絵見たさで行った。
実物はだいたい想像の範囲内の大きさだったかな。ジョン・エヴァレット・ミレーの絵はどれも印象に残った。

ペーパーウェイトを買った。ウィリアム・ダイスのこの絵は特に気に入った。断崖の描写が面白い。描き方は違うがクロード・モネのエトルタの断崖を思い出した。
